Foothills Weight Loss Specialists, the first surgical weight loss practice in the Knoxville area, has been designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The Center of Excellence designation recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery and requires compliance with rigorous standards established by the Surgical Review Corporation.

We work in collaboration with the Blount Memorial Weight Management Center, which is located in Blount County/Maryville, Tennessee.

Since 2002, more than 1,300 patients have lost a total of over 125,000 pounds – more than 62 tons – as a result of weight loss surgery by our surgeons, Dr. Mark Colquitt and Dr. Jonathan Ray. Both surgeons are board certified by the American Board of Surgery and are members of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
